Health
Ed of New England is proud to offer American Heart Association certification
classes in CPR/ AED and First Aid. These classes are available to
private groups, as well as at our public class sites. For public

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, 4
hours; infant, child, and adult techniques for choking and CPR (for
1 and 2 rescuers), also includes information on heart attack and stroke.
AED (defibrillator) training, and use of barrier devices taught. Includes
written exam.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers skills test: 30 – 45
minutes; this is the in-person supplement to the online certification
program. The online course and exam MUST be completed before the
skills test. Please call us to schedule.
Heartsaver CPR: Adult/ Pediatric (for laypersons), 2½ -
3½ hrs; adult/ child (infant techniques are optional)
techniques for choking and CPR (1-rescuer only), includes info on heart
attack and stroke.Use of face mask is optional.No written exam.
Heartsaver AED Adult/ Pediatric (for laypersons), 4
- 4 ½ hours; basic CPR techniques incorporated into
the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator), for facilities with
an AED on site. Use of face mask taught. (Infant techniques
are optional) No written exam. Includes an AED refresher drill
after 1 year.
Heartsaver First Aid, 6 ½ hrs;
how to recognize and treat common emergencies, such as burns, bleeding,
shock, poisoning, stroke, electrical shock, and broken bones. Also
includes adult CPR/ AED training. Written exam.
Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid, 6 ½ hrs;
includes first aid skills for children such as: care for bleeding, head
injuries, burns, poisoning, drowning, and bee stings. Also includes
CPR/ AED training. Written exam.
Heartsaver CPR in Schools: For those
who work in schools and want to be prepared to help with student emergencies
in the first few minutes before professional help arrives.
Family and Friends CPR: For those who
want to be prepared to help with life threatening emergencies and don’t
need certification; a shorter version of the Heartsaver CPR course.
Family and Friends First Aid for Children: For
those who want to be prepared to help children who are suddenly ill or
injured, in the first few minutes before professional help arrives. Includes
care for choking as well as basic first aid measures. |
