Public CPR / AED and First Aid Classes:

Public classes are held at various locations in Massachusetts: South of Boston, West of Boston, and on Cape Cod MA.  Monthly classes are held in Weymouth MA, Kingston MA and Hyannis MA.  Classes include CPR for Healthcare Providers, Pediatric CPR/ First Aid and Heartsaver CPR.  Click here for schedule!

Public CPR/ First Aid class info:

· Space is limited for our public classes and pre-registration is required. To register for one or more of our public classes, click on the class registration form you want, and print out the form. Send with your personal check or money order to: HEALTH ED OF NEW ENGLAND, P.O. BOX 377, KINGSTON MA 02364. OR click here to register online.

· We'll contact all registrants prior to class. In case class is cancelled, your payment is refunded in full or may be credited toward a future class. No refunds given for cancellation without prior notice.

· Some students find it helpful to receive the class manual in advance. If you would like one, please make a note on your registration form, or email us, and time permitting, we'll be glad to send it.

· If you are under 18 and attending without a parent or guardian, you will need to submit a permission form in order to attend our classes. The form can be found under class registration forms.

· If you develop a cold or illness, please consider canceling, as there is close physical contact with other students. The class involves strenuous physical activity. Dress comfortably for floor manikin practice! Light refreshments will be served, but please feel free to bring your own snacks.

CPR CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

(Recertification classes also available)

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, 3 ½ -4 hours;  infant, child, and adult techniques for choking and CPR (for 1 and 2 rescuers), AED (defibrillator) training, and use of barrier devices taught.  Includes written exam.  American Heart Association certificates issued.

Heartsaver CPR: Adult/ Pediatric (for laypersons), 2½ - 3  hrs; adult/ child   (infant techniques are optional) techniques for choking and CPR (1-rescuer only).  Use of face mask is optional.No written exam.American Heart Association certificates issued.  

Heartsaver AED Adult/ Pediatric (for laypersons), 3 ½  - 4  hours;  basic CPR techniques incorporated into the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator), for facilities with an AED on site.  Use of face mask taught.  (Infant techniques are optional)  No written exam.  American Heart Association certificates issued.  Includes an AED refresher drill after 1 year.

Basic First Aid, 3 hrs; how to recognize and treat common emergencies, such as burns, bleeding, shock, poisoning, stroke, electrical shock, and broken bones.  Written exam.  American Heart Association or National Safety Council certification cards issued.

Pediatric CPR (for laypersons) 3 hrs; infant/ child (up to age 8)  techniques for choking and CPR (1-rescuer only), includes info on child safety.Use of face mask is optional.Written exam.American Heart Association or National Safety Council  certificates issued.  

Pediatric First Aid,  3 hrs; how to recognize and treat common emergencies in infants and children, such as bleeding, head injuries, burns, poisoning, drowning, and bee stings.  Written exam.  American Heart Association or National Safety Council certification cards issued.

Pediatric First Aid/ CPR: 6- 6 ½ hrs: includes modules on both Pediatric First Aid and Pediatric CPR (for victims up to age 8).  Written exam.  American Heart Association or National Safety Council certification cards issued.

Pediatric First Aid/ CPR/ AED: 7 7 ½   hrs:includes modules on both Pediatric First Aid and Pediatric CPR/AED (for victims up to age 8).  For pediatric facilities with AED on site.  Written exam.  American Heart Association or National Safety Council certification cards issued.  Includes an AED refresher drill after 1 year.

PRICES FOR PUBLIC CLASSES:

CPR for Healthcare Providers:

$45 for beginners or those whose certification has expired (30 day grace period allowed)

$40 for recertifications or 2 or more people registering together

Heartsaver CPR for Lay Rescuers:

$40 for beginners or those whose certification has expired (30 day grace period allowed)

$35 for recertifications or 2 or more people registering together

Basic First Aid: 40 each, or $35 each for 2 or more people

Pediatric First Aid:  $45 each, or $40 each for 2 or more people
